RESURRECTED

NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS HAD I EXPECTED THIS BLOG STILL EXISTED!

Last week, we were asked to write a blog for our take home quiz in English worth 30 points. I have never been fond of writing blogs since I prefer reading instead of writing or should i say I prefer to pry rather than to be pried on. :) So, after surveying several people of which blogging site should I sign up to, I decided to go for BLOGSPOT. I clicked on the CREATE A BLOG link, but after waiting for several seconds, nothing happened. I clicked it again, still, the signing up page didn't appear. I was starting to get impatient with it and was about to go for multiply until a memory found its way to be evoked.

Three years and seven months ago, Mr. Ramon dela Cruz, our English teacher, asked us to write a love story with Huasiong (Iloilo Central Commercial High School) as the setting and post the entry on our own blogging account. He specifically required us to go for blogspot since he himself had an account. I could still remember how procrastination and cramming almost got me since I found myself doing my formal theme the day before examinations. After submitting it the next day, I have never thought about it since. Until now.

Fast forward to year 2010, after several minutes and ten futile clicks on the CREATE A BLOG link, I realized I already had an account! I typed my ID and password which incredibly found a space to hide for several years on my now jam-packed brain and VOILA! my account which had been dead for three years and seven months is ALIVE! My long-forgotten formal theme entry was amazingly still there. My arrector pili(goose bumps) just stood while reading it. It was so cheesy I could vomit.

The entry was undeniably embarrassing, and to tell you I'm not proud of it. But somehow I can't make myself delete it. I suppose not only because of the nostalgia it unconsciously brought with it but also it could serve as a basis of whether after three years and seven months, had I even improved in my writing? It's the question I myself cannot answer.

I don't know whether from now on, would I learn to love blogging or would loathe it even more. But honestly speaking, I'm quite giddy about it (for now). I really just hope it would work out for the best.

I officially declare ILLEGAL BLOGGING has finally RESURRECTED!

Behind the old walls of the 95-year old Iloilo Central Commercial High School, a great love story took place. Love does happen in the most unusual places. Imagine, a school doesn't even allow to have relationships taking place inside the school campus. But whether we like it or not, we can't control our emotions. We experience love.

In this story, Hwasiong or ICCHS doesn't look like what we see everyday. The walls are black. The uniforms are black, everything was black.

It was the first day of school. Ram wasn't really that excited. He was never happy. It's because his parents separated, his grandfather died, their business isn't doing well, his appearance... He thinks his problems are never-ending. He went to his classroom, sat down quietly then suddenly, someone attracted his attention. It was Lea, a new student who went inside the classroom. She was like the most beautiful girl Ram has ever seen. Her radiant skin, her dazzling smile. He welcomed Lea warmly. They talked then they became compatible with each other because they have a lot in common. As the days go by, his feelings for her grew deeper and deeper until such time he realized he loves her already.

People noticed that the school was changing. Gradually, the black walls turned lighter in color. It's like it woke up from the slumber of darkness.

Ram thinks it's about time to confess his love for Lea. As they were walking on the hallway, Ram stopped then faced Lea. "Lea, I love you" those words came out on Ram's lips. Lea didn't know what to say. She too loves Ram but her father strictly forbids her to have relationships at such young age. Then the words "Sorry Ram, but I can't" struck him. Those words felt as if those were knives that pierced his heart. He felt angry and hurt.

The next day, Ram didn't go to school. Students noticed the school turning to the shade of "darker than black." If it was black before, it's even "blacker" now. The school year ended bad for the both of them. Lea was transferred to another school while Ram was again back to its unmeaningful life.

Years passed, ICCHS organized an Alumni Homecoming for the batch of Ram. Nothing changed in him except of course his physical appearance. He walked on the hallway where Lea dumped him. He remembers that moment then again feels the pain he felt when the words "Sorry Ram, but I can't" was heard by his ear. He only had one ear, he had this physical abnormality when he was still a child. Everyone laughed at him, made fun of him except for Lea that's why he liked her so much. As he was commemorating that moment, Lea was there looking at him. She approached him then said the words, " I love you too." Surprised, Ram's heart was filled with joy. He forgot all about what the past did to him. They hugged each other then promised to love each other forever.

This story says that Ram's feelings were the reflection of the outward look of ICCHS. The reason was unknown. But since the day Lea said she loved him, the school has never been so colorful.
